      3. The book "Ancestry of Elizabeth Barrett Gillespie (Mrs. William Sperry Beinecke)," by Paul W. Prindle, 1976, p. 223:
      "MARY HOBBY, daughter of John (1) Hobby and his wife, Sarah Gray, was born about 1668. She married twice. On 18 November 1686 she married Stephen Holmes (Stamford Town Records, 1:101), apparently in a double wedding ceremony, for her sister Rebecca was married that same day. Stephen was born 14 January 1664 (ibid., 1:76) and died 1710 at Greenwich, son of John and Rachel (Waterbury) Holmes (Old Fairfield, op. cit., 1:291). See Stephen's section for the record of their children.
      Mary married second, 3 February 1712/3 (Stamford Town Records, 1:129), Benjamin Green, who died 6 March 1726/7 (Stamford Births, Marriages and Deaths, 1:8), son of John and Martha (Finch) Green."
