      1. Named as wife in the 1632 will of her husband Richard Sanford. The couple was childless. Surname most likely Grube since two Grubes are named as "brothers," per Sanford, Carlton E. Thomas Sanford, the Emigrant to New England: Ancestry, Life, and Descendants, 1632-4: Sketches of Four Other Pioneer Sanfords and Some of Their Descendants in Appendix, with Many Illustrations. (Rutland, Vt.: The Tuttle Co., Printers, 1911) 1:46-48. In his will dated 27 Feb 1632 and probated 17 Oct 1636, he identifies himself as "Richard Sanford of North Weald Basset in the Countie of Essex, Yeoman". He mentions "Eziekell Sanford's children, my Kinsfolke", "Ezekell my Godson", "Sarra Sanford, my godDaughter", "Zakery Sanford, hir brother", "Thomas How my Kensman of much Hadame", "my brother Henry Grube", "Annis, my wife", "John Grube, my Godsone", "John Grube, my brother", and "my Brother Haukes".

      2. An extremely valuable reference book on this family is "Thomas Sanford, the emigrant to New England; ancestry, life, and descendants, 1632-4," by Carlton E. Sanford (Tuttle Company: Rutland, Vermont, 1911). It contains a thorough examination and report of the English church records, lay subsidies, and probate for this family.
