“WILLIAM BRIWERRE, seen 1150. He married an unidentified wife, ___. They had two sons, Richard and Thomas. According to a charter of King John, he held and in Hampshire, together with the forestership of Bere in the time of King Henry I. In the period, 1129-71, Henry, Bishop of Winchester, confirmed the grant of Walkelin Briwerre of a hide of land, half at Michelmarsh and half at Awbridge, Hampshire; this charter was witnessed by William Briwerre and his sons, Richard and Thomas.
