“JOAN DE MORTIMER, daughter and co-heiress, born at Caerphilly Castle and baptized there 24 Nov. 1291 (aged 12 on 25 Nov. 1303, 15 in 1304, 17 in 1308). She married (1st) Michaelmas term 1307 (date of lawsuit) THOMAS DE BYKENORE, Knt., in right of his wife, of Richard's Castle, Herefordshire. They had no issue. His wife, Joan, was co-heiress in 1308 to her great-uncle, William de Mortimer, Knt., of Ham (in Clifton upon Teme), Worcestershire. THOMAS DE BYKENORE presented to the first portion of the prebendal church of Burford, Shropshire 29 Sept. 1316. His widow, Joan, married (2nd) before 7 August 1320 RICHARD TALBOT, in right of his wife, of Richard's Castle, Herefordshire, Howbridge and Woodham Mortimer, Essex, Naunton, Gloucestershire, Farnborough, Warwickshire, Wychbold (in Dodderhill), Worcestershire, etc., younger son of Richard Talbot, of Eccleswall, Credenhill, Linton, and Weston, Herefordshire, by Sarah, daughter of William de Beauchamp, Knt. [see TALBOT 9 for his ancestry]. They had four sons, John, Richard (1st of name), Thomas, and Richard (2nd of name). In 1325-6 they granted the manor of Wychbold (in Dodderhill), Worecestershire to Isabel de Mortimer for life. He presented to the first portion of the prebendal church of Burford, Shropshire in 1326. RICHARD TALBOT died shortly before 10 October 1328, and was buried in Wormesley Priory, Herefordshire. His widow, Joan, presented the first portion of the prebendal church of Burford, Shropshire in 1331. She died shortly before 12 Jan. 1340/1.

Worc.), Woodham Mortimer (Essex), with the half of the manor of Home (co. Worc.), the half of the manor of Karketon (co. Worc.), and of ₤10 of annual rent in Denton (co. Lines), together with a certain prebend and three specified advowsons, to John de Wotton, chaplain, and William Balle of Underluch, to hold for the term of her life, after which the lands advowsons and reversions are to remain to John, her eldest son, and Juliana, his wife, and failing their lawful heirs, to the lawful heirs of John; but if John dies without lawful heir of his body, the lands and tenements are to go to Richard Thalebot, his eldest brother, and the lawful heirs of his body, and failing that, to Thomas Thalebot, his brother and the lawful heirs of his body; failing that to Richard Thalebot the younger, and the lawful heirs of his body; failing that, the aforesaid lands and tenements are to return to the petitioner and her heirs and assigns for ever."). “SARAH DE BEAUCHAMP, married 7 Jan. 1268/9 (date of her father's will) RICHARD TALBOT (or TALEBOT), of Eccleswall (in Linton), Credenhill, Linton, and Weston, Herefordshire, Sheriff of Gloucester, 1299-1301, son and heir of Gilbert Talbot, of Eccleswall, Herefordshire, by Gwenthlian, daughter of Rhys Mechyll, of Dynevor, South Wales. He was born about 1250. They had three sons, Gilbert, Knt [1st Lord Talbot], Richard, and Thomas [Rector of Credenhill, Herefordshire], and two daughters, Gwenllian (wife of Pain de Turberville, Knt.) and Joan. He served in Wales and Gascony under King Edward I. He presented to the church of Credenhill, Herefordshire in 1301. RICHARD TALBOT died about 3 Sept. 1306. His widow, Sarah, was living in July 1317.
