  RESEARCH_NOTES: 1. “Royal Ancestry: A Study in Colonial & Medieval Families,” Douglas Richardson (2013): “BERTHA, married (1st) before 880 THIBAUD, Count of Arles. They had two sons, Hugo (or Hugues) [Count of Vienne, Marquis of Provence, King of Italy] and Boso [Count of Avignon, Count of Arles, Margrave of Tuscany]. Thibaud, Count of Arles, was living June 887. His widow, Bertha, married (2nd) ADALBERTO II, Margrave of Tuscany. They had two sons, Guido [Margrave of Tuscany] and Lambert [Margrave of Tuscany], and one daughter, Ermengarde (wife of Adalberto, Margrave of Ivrea).
