    • RESEARCH_NOTES:
      1. FHL fiche 6341171 transcribed marriage registers for Pembury has marriage records for this Richard and his children Mary, William, Anne (Anne noted as being of Brenchley), and Richard. There is one other entry in about the same time period in Pembury:
      - 1734 Oct 1 - Thos. Ewens and Eliz. Upton, both of Brenchly, by banns, "Leave of Mr. Strother." This is not our Elizabeth Upton since this marriage produces children up to 1741 and perhaps beyond. The correct Elizabeth Upton for this marriage is the one chr. 7 Mar 1713 in Brenchley with parents Thomas Upton and Ann Jefferys.
