He married MAHAUT (or MATHILDE) DE BRETEUIL, daughter and co-heiress of Waleran III, seigneur of Breteuil-en-Beauvaisis, by his 1st wife, Hildeburge (or Holdeburge), lady of Ailly sur Noie and Tartigny. They had two sons, Raoul [seigneur of Ailly-sur-Noye] and Guy, and two daughters, Jeanne (or Beatrice) (wife of Baldwin de Darges) and Clemence (wife of Simon de Beausault). In 1162 he consented to a grant of his brother, Raoul, Count of Clermont, to the Abbey of Notre-Dame d'Ourscamp. He witnessed a charter of his brother, Raoul, Count of Clermont, to Jumièges dated 1170. In 1174 Raoul, Count Clermont, seigneur of Breteuil reached agreement with Lannoy Abbey concerning his fiefs in Monceaux-l'Abbaye; this agreement was made with the consent of his wife, Countess Alix, his daughter, Katherine, and his brother, Simon, with his wife, Mathilde. In 1176 he consented to a grant of his brother, Raoul, Count of Clermont, to the Priory of Saint-Leu d'Esserent In 1178 he witnessed a charter of his brother, Raoul, Count of Clermont, to the Abbey of Notre-Dame d'Ourscamp. SIMON DE CLERMONT was living in 1187. In 1193 Thibaut, Bishop of Amiens stated that he had received a charter granted by Simon d'Ailly, his wife Mathilde, and their sons, Raoul and Guy, concerning a gift of grain from the tithes of Ailly to the Priory of Saint-Leu d'Esserent. His widow, Mahaut, died 14 March 1208.
