They had two sons, Walter and Fulk, Knt. In 1155 King Henry II confirmed the gift of William de Cantelowe to Longueville Priory. Round Cal. Docs. Preserved in France 1 (1899): 77-78. Children of William de Cantelowe, by ___. i. WALTER DE CANTELOWE [see next]. ii. FULK DE CANTELOWE, Knt., of Calstone Wellington, Wiltshire, Sheriff of Berkshire, 1200-1. He witnessed six of the 16 charters of John, Earl of Mortain, between June 1195 and 1198. On the accession of John as king, he became a senior household knight. He was employed by King John to bring the monks to heel about the election of an archbishop. He was lord of the hundred of Caine, Wiltshire as early as 1205. About 1209 King John gave Burton, Northamptonshire to Fulk de Cantelowe to hold at will. Thomas Malemains recovered the manor of Burton in 1216, as part of his wife's inheritance. In 1217, it was again granted to Cantelowe, but presumably he obtained other compensation, since on the death of Thomas Malemains, it was granted during pleasure in 1219 to Malemains' widow, Joan.
