They had three sons, Edmund, Esq., John, and Peter, and two daughters, Elizabeth and Anne (wife of Robert Hall). His wife, Elizabeth, died in 1498. JOHN DUDLEY, Esq., died 6 Feb. 1500/1501. He left a will dated 1 October 1500, proved 26 June 1501 (P.C.C. Moone 19 & 23), requesting burial in the College Church of Arundel, "in my tombe of marbill there, where Elizabeth, late my wife, lyeth buried."

EDMUND DUDLEY, Esq., of Atherington and Findon, Sussex, Balderston, Lancashire, and London, lawyer, Knight of the Shire (or Burgess) (M.P.) for Lewes, some Sussex boro. or Sussex, 1483-7, 1489-90, Burgess (M.P.) for Lewes, 1491-2, Knight of the Shire for Sussex, 1495, (?1497), 1504, Speaker of the House of Commons, 1504 President of the Council, 1506-9, son and heir. He was a student at Oxford, and afterwards studied law at Gray's Inn. He married (1st) ANNE WINDSOR, daughter of Thomas Windsor, Esq., of Stanwell, Middlesex, Usher of the Chamber, by Elizabeth, daughter of John Andrew (or Andrews), Esq. [see LUDLOW 12 for her ancestry]. They had one daughter, Elizabeth (wife of William Stourton, 7th Lord Stourton). He was present at the Coronation of King Richard III in 1483. He helped negotiate peace at Boulogne in 1492. His wife, Anne, was living 1 October 1500. He married (2nd) ELIZABETH GREY, suo jure Lady Lisle of Kingston Lisle, daughter of Edward Grey, Knt, 3rd Viscount Lisle, by his 1st wife, Elizabeth, daughter of John Talbot, Knt., 1st Viscount Lisle [see GROBY 15.ii for her ancestry]. She was born about 1482-5 (aged 20 or 23 in 1505). They had three sons, John, K.G. [1st Duke of Northumberland], Jerome, and Andrew, Knt. He was granted letters of fraternity by the Prior and Convent of Durham in 1508. EDMUND DUDLEY, Esq., was beheaded on Tower Hill 18 August 1510, and was buried in the church of the Blackfriars. His widow, Elizabeth, married (2nd) 12 Nov. 1511 (as his 1st wife) ARTHUR PLANTAGENET, KG. [see YORK 13ii], King's Spear, Esquire of the Body, Sheriff of Hampshire, 1513-14, Vice-Admiral of England, 1525, Trier of Petitions in Parliament, Governor of Calais, 1533-40, Warden of the Cinque Ports, 1536-42, Privy Councillor, 1540, illegitimate son of King Edward IV of England [see YORK 13 for his ancestry]. He was probably born about 1470 (presumed to be "my Lord the Bastard" mentioned in an Exchequer account dated mid-1471). They had three daughters, Frances (wife of John Basset and Thomas Monke), Elizabeth (wife of Francis Jobson, Knt.), and Bridget (wife of William Carden, Knt.). He was admitted a member of Lincoln's Inn 4 Feb. 1510/11. His wife, Elizabeth, was co-heiress in 1519 to her niece, Elizabeth Grey, Countess of Devon, Viscountess Lisle, and sole heiress before 1523 to her sister, Anne Grey, wife of John Willoughby, Knt. He presented to the church of Bedworth, Warwickshire in 1521, in right of his wife, Elizabeth. He and his wife, Elizabeth, presented to the church of Uphill, Somerset in 1522; he presented alone in 1528. In consequence of his marriage, he was created Viscount Lisle 25 April 1523. In 1526 he was acting as Lieutenant of Henry Fitz Roy, Duke of Richmond. In 1528 he purchased the manors of Segenworth, Chark, Lee, Sutton, West Stratton, etc., Hampshire from his cousin, John Wayte, Esq., of Titchfield, Hampshire. His wife, Elizabeth, was living 10 August 1530. He married (2nd) before 20 Feb. 1530/1 HONOR GRENVILLE, widow of John Basset, Knt. (died 31 Jan. 1522/9), and daughter of Thomas Grenville, Knt., of Kilkhampton (in Stowe), Cornwall, by his 1st wife, Isabel, daughter of Ores Gilbert, Esq. They had no issue. He was imprisoned in the Tower of London on suspicion of treason 19 May 1540. SIR ARTHUR PLANTAGENET, Viscount Lisle, died there 3 March 1541/2. On 9 March 1541/2 the king's council commanded the Deputy of Calais to set at liberty Lady Lisle and her daughters, and to restore to them their apparel and jewels, and that Lady Lisle have £900 for the payment of her debts, transportation, and other necessaries. Honor, Lady Lisle, was buried at Logan, Cornwall 30 April 1566.

“JOHN BRAMSHOTT, Esq., of Bramshott and Gatcombe, Hampshire, Compton, Lordington (in Racton), and Terwick, Sussex, Croucheston, Wiltshire, etc., son and heir. He was a residuary legatee in the 1439 will of his aunt, Joan (Bramshott) Pelham. He married in 1444 (date of fine) KATHERINE PELHAM, daughter of John Pelham, Knt., of Laughton, Bivelham, Burwash, Crowhurst, etc., Sussex, Chamberlain to Queen Katherine of France (wife of King Henry V of England), by his wife, Joan de Courcy. They had two daughters, Elizabeth and Margaret. In 1444 he sued William Fawkener and two others for the manor of Cheshulle, Hampshire. JOHN BRAMSHOTT, Esq., died in 1468. His widow, Katherine, married (2nd) before 1469 (as his 1st wife) THOMAS LEWKNOR, Knt. [see LEWKNOR 16], of Trotton, Midhurst, and Bodiam, Sussex, Lasham and Lockerley, Hampshire, Stoke Doyle, Northamptonshire, Chisleharnpton, Oxfordshire, etc., Sheriff of Surrey and Sussex, 1473-4, Knight of the Shire for Sussex, Constable of Bodiam Castle, Sussex, son and heir of Roger Lewknor, Knt., of Trotton and Broadhurst (in Horsted Keynes), Sussex, Knight of the Shire for Sussex, Sheriff of Surrey and Sussex, by his 1st wife, Eleanor, daughter of Richard Camoys, Knt. [see LEWKNOR 15 for his ancestry]. He was born about 1438-48 (aged variously 30, 34, or 40 in 1478). They had one son, Roger, Knt., and two daughters, Katherine (wife of Richard Knatchbull) and Sibyl (wife of William Scott, Knt.). His wife, Katherine, died in 1481. He was knighted at the Coronation of King Richard III in 1483. He was a leader in the Duke of Buckingham's rising in Kent in October 1483. He was attainted in Feb. 1484, and his lands forfeited. He was denounced as a rebel 24 May 1484. In 1484 he was pardoned and his lands restored. He married (2nd) before 3 August 1486 JANE ___, widow of John Yonge, Knt. (died 1481), Alderman of London. SIR THOMAS LEWKNOR died 20 July 1484. In the period, 1493-1500, his widow, Jane, sued her step-son, Roger Lewknor, Knt., and Richard Lewknor, of Sheffield, his uncle in Chancery regarding the detention of books called 'liggers' and other books relating to the debts of the said Sir Thomas Lewknor. She was living in 1501.
