  RESEARCH_NOTES: 1. Various first names have been speculated as James or William, however, we simply do not really know and can surmise a surname only by the name of their child Simeon Bumgarner. Only one child born to this couple which would seem to indicate an early death for the father. Relatives in 1841 would remember Barbara as Barbara Pertune, which would seem to indicate a later marriage to Pertune.
