- RESEARCH_NOTES:
1. CAUTION! It is assumed that it was this Edward Kidney who married Mary Bennett 13 Sep 1748 in Sutton Valence and had many children in Detling with parents shown as Edward and Mary. There was also another Edward having children at the same time in the same parish but his children show the mother as Elizabeth. This latter couple is probably the Edward Kidney and Elizabeth Gammon who married in Boxley 21 Sep 1743. Boxley, Bredhurst, and Detling are adjacent to each other and are the centers of Kidney families. When Elizabeth, wife of Edward died in Detling 28 Sep 1777, her husband was named as "Edward Kidney, Senior." Likewise when Mary wife of the Edward died in Detling 6 Jun 1777, her husband was named as "Edward Kidney, Juner." In the past, some have connected Elizabeth as wife to Edward Kidney was chr. 10 Nov. 1694 in Detling, but that would mean that he was 49 when he married and that he had children until he was 64 in 1758 -- it is possible but seems unlikely.
