If you contact the Hillston Library they have the whole Eade family documented, coupled with the book that his written on the family, many photographs as well. It is a wonderful family and many of the family are still in the district. Give the library a call, Lyn or Helen 69672 503

With the help of many of the List I have been able to piece together the story of the EADES...
Here is what I have found regarding the EADE family of Sussex, England, with a great deal of help from Listers, and lucky contact with a direct descendant.
George Eade was born in Sussex, England on 10th Mar 1857 to John Eade and Widow Ruth Eade (Daw nee Goreham).
George's father John had been married before and it appears that before the 1841 Census his wife (maybe Mary Ann), died leaving him with four children, Mary Ann b. 1831, Phoebe b. 1834 both in Westham, Sussex and Peter b.1836 and William b. 1839 both in Wivelsfield, Sussex.
In 1851 John Eade Widower aged 42 and his two sons Peter 15 and William 12, are living in Westham, Sussex and also at the same address was Ruth Daw, Housekeeper aged 31 and her four children Erman 11, Miriam 9, John 7, Sarah 3 and Robert 2 months.
On 10th March 1857 a son was born to John Eade and Ruth Daw (nee Goreham). In the June quarter of 1857 Widower John Eade and Widow Ruth Eade married, after the birth of their son George Eade.
In 1874 son of John and Ruth, George Eade with his girl friend Mary Ann Chapman, sailed from England and arrived in Moreton Bay in Queensland. I have found the arrival of a Mary Ann Chapman, aged 17 (correct age, born 1857 in Eastbourne, UK) arriving on board the "Ramsey" on 9th June 1874. George is on the ship, however he is not on the List of passengers on the Qld Immigration Website. Mary Ann was pregnant with their first child. The couple began to walk from Brisbane to New South Wales, on the way on 26th July 1874, before they reached the border John Thomas Eade was born and his birth is registered in Qld.
George Eade and Mary Ann Chapman married in 1877 at Tooragany and the marriage was registered in Hay NSW. George and Mary Ann Eade settled on land they purchased in Tooragany in the region of Booligal. The property later was called "Lilydale".
The following year George's father John 65 and his mother Ruth 54, sailed from England on board the "Northumberland" and arrived in Port Phillip Bay in Victoria in Nov 1875, joining the family in Booligal in NSW. I am not sure if any of the other children from the first Eade marriage and Ruth's Daw children immigrated.
John Thomas Eade, born in Qld in 1874 the son of George and Mary Ann, married Catherine Jane Davis on 12th March 1901 in Balranald NSW. Their eldest son Thomas Charles Eade, married Elsie G Johnson in 1926 in Hillston and I have been told by their daughter Irene, that her mother wrote a book about the journey that George Eade and Mary Ann Chapman made walking from Queensland with their baby son, John Thomas, to settle on their block of land in Tooragany. I am going to try and get a copy of this book, as I think it should be an interesting read.
The youngest child of John Thomas and Catherine Jane Eade (nee Davis) was Roy (Ray) Eade and he married Ellen (Helen) Mary Ann Keirnan or Kiernan in 1941. A big thank you to Fiona on the List, who went out of her way and visited the Griffith Cemetery and took photographs of Ray and Ellen's headstone and also of the Schaefer headstone of Glen Ronald Schaefer and Sarah Harriet Schaefer (nee Seaton), the maternal grandparents of my son in law."

James Daw, mar., 71, ag. lab., b. in Sussex, Westham.

Interestingly Ruth Daw of the 1841 census is in the same Westham census. Ruth Daw would later marry John Eade.
