      2. Website http://teamapproach.ca/cousins/ accessed 8 Aug 2015. On the page, access the link at "Adam Charlton Memoir" -- a memoir of near 200 pages written by John Charlton about his father Adam and containing information on the family of Thomas Charlton (who died in Canada), Adam's father. John Charlton was age 46 when his grandfather Thomas died. The memoir is about Adam Charlton (father to the author John Charlton). So references to 'his father' refer to Adam's father, Thomas and Elenor (Scott) Charlton. But he also refers to 'his grandfather' (p 5) of Stobbilee, who would be Thomas (married to Dorothy Hedley) Charlton.
The quote reads: "The friends whom he occasionally visited were his grandfather Thomas Charlton, of Stobbilee. His uncles on his mother's side, William Scott of Bellingham Ells and Adam Scott of the Boweres, Edward Charlton of Stackhill, John Thompson of Ealingham, Edward Nixon and John Henderson. His mother's maiden name was Ellen Scott. His father Thomas had there brothers, James, George and Peter, and three sisters, Jane, Dorothy and Elizabeth. Jane married Edward Nixon, Dorothy, John Thompson, Elizabeth, a Mr. Peterson, and after his death, Edward Charlton of Stackhill. [Continues with the children of the above uncles.]"

      CHRISTENING:
      1. FHL film 252545, church records for Bellingham parish, Northumberland, christenings from 1720-1750 for a father Thomas of Dunterlee (there are many Charltons since this is the area of the ancestral home of the Charltons, but the registrar was very good at always identifying a residence for each entry). These are the only Charltons identified with the abode of Dunterley and we can presume them as one family:
-30 Apr 1727, Lionel, son of Thomas Charlton, Dunterlee.
-23 Apr 1730, George, son of Thomas Charlton, Dunterlee.
-27 Dec 1731, John, son of Thomas Charlton, Dunterlee.
-24 Jun 1733, Ann, dau. of Thomas Charlton, Dunterlee.
-27 Dec 1735, Elenor, dau. of Thomas Charlton, Dunterlee.
-13 Oct 1737, Thomas, son of Thomas Charlton, Dunterlee.
-25 Apr 1739, Edward, son of Thomas Charlton, Dunterlee.
-16 Jun 1743, Jacob Joseph and Jane, twins of Thomas Charlton, Dunterlee.

      MARRIAGE:
      1. I do not find a marriage at either Corsenside, Bellingham, nor Simonburn parishes where it would be expected.

      2. FHL film 252546, Bellingham marriage records beginning 1754, I don't see marriage records for the following of Thomas' Children: Lionel, George, or Jacob; however, the following ones should be investigated further for the other children:
-11 May 1757, Ann Charlton and Christopher Wilkinson, both of the parish, wit: "Jhon" Wilkinson and Edward Charlton. [Many family histories believe this is our Ann.]
