  RESEARCH_NOTES: 1. Sondbjerg Church Records do not begin until 1705. The same church books record the Odby Parish. 2. E-mail dated 25 Apr 2013 from Jens at jobyskov@esenet.dk: I am a descendant of Anne Knudsdatter's brother Jens Knudsen Riis. This brother took over the farm Helleriis in Søndbjerg after his father Knud Jensen, when he became old. There is a letter (faestebrev) for that 18 October 1703 signed by regiment secretary Ulsøe from Dronninglund. Faestebrev is that you live on the farm and take care of it, but you don't own it, but pay tax to the owner. E-mail dated 24 Aug 2013 from Jens at jobyskov@esenet.dk: Here is a little more about what I can tell you. I know, that Jens Knudsen Riis bought his farm Helleris for himself. Cause in 1724 he took a loan in the farm on 225 rigsdaler. The person Jørgen Sørensen on Mors gave the loan with security in the farm. Few years later this person overtook the farm. So Jens Knudsen moved. In 1734 his brother-in-law Jens Jensen Thagaard died. In the will (skifte), Jens Knudsen Riis was mentioned as a farmer in Resen town. So I know, he was alive in 1734. Furthermore his wife Kirsten Jensdatter died in 1767, 78 years old also in Resen. 3. Also known as Knud Jensen Riis. Probably a derivative of the name of the Helleriis farm. Here is some of the information from the website, which has photos: Supplementary material for DVD and booklet in the series "The Living Regional History" published by Thyholm Regional Museum. The farm became a reference point for the British planes that dropped weapons to the resistance movement. Poul Jakobsen, alias Svend Erik Christensen, photographed on May 8, 1945 at Helleriis. The windbreaker is English, from a drop, and he has the revolver in his pocket. Poul Jacobsen was at Helleriis from August to October 1944. His cover was initially that he was a "faint-hearted student from a distant family, who was now staying in the countryside to regain his strength after a period of demanding exam reading". That story did not last long, and instead he began to walk hand in hand with the farm's daughter Inger (The story is told by Inger Riis Christensen on DVD.) "We both agreed to the joke. What wouldn't you do for your fatherland". But they became real lovers, and they got married in 1947. Inger and Svend Erik's story is not the first about war and love on Helleriis. The farm features in the folk song about " Mrs. Haufred ", a grim story of seduction, murder and blood revenge. 4. FHL film 53187 Sondbjerg Church Records, p. 43: 1714 Skærtorsdag [29 March] was "old" Knud Jensen of Helleriis peacefully buried, Sondbjerg Churchyard age 54 years.
