- RESEARCH_NOTES:
1. Website of Peter Bruce Herzenberg of London, England (since relocated to South Africa). Website is no longer functioning as of 7 Aug 2007. Copies of much of his data from the website in my possession. He indicates references by codes, which pertain to the original source and file held in his database, which I have not seen. I have no key to the sources except HL is Leonardo Herzenberg, HG is Gail Herzenberg, PC is probably Piltene Cemetery records, LA is probably Latvian Archives, FA is probably Aleksandrs Feigmanis (Latvian researcher hired by Harold Hodes), and YL is Len Yodaiken (Israeli researcher hired by Harold Hodes); however, he lists the main researchers and their contributions in a lengthy report which I include in full in the notes of the earliest Herzenberg of this database. In regards to this individual:
CR shows Bertha d. Russia.
2. Email dated 4 Dec 2011 from Lucille Maitino, granddau. of Rudolf Herzenberg :
"My Mom had told me many stories of Cecelia Dorothea (Odes) Herzenberg and how she died of a burst appendix when my Mom was only 23. Cecelia (Odes) Herzenberg died when she was only 45 (5/30/1937) and her husband Rudolf died 3 weeks later of a broken heart. (6/22/1937).
I know my Grandfather Rudolf had 2 brothers and 2 sisters, Herman, Leo, Bertha and Clara. I know my Grandfather Rudolf's father was Isaac, and that Isaac had a brother Daniel. I know Daniel had a son Israel and that Israel had 2 sons and 2 daughters, Sammy, Allen, Sybil and Irene. I know many of the cousins from these."
3. Email dated 8 Dec 2011 from Lucille Maitino, granddau. of Rudolf Herzenberg :
"My Grandfather Rudolf siblings, Herman married Paula?, had two children Taube & Gerald. Brother Leo went off to war, Bertha stayed in Latvia, Clara married Serjay Ismailoff, then Louis Larsen, and then Irwin Orton. I am not sure of dates, but she lived in many countries, the longest Shanghai, then NYC, New York, as that is where Irwin died late 1960's. Clara died in 1979."
