- RESEARCH_NOTES:
1. Even though the 1729 marriage record calls out that Elizabeth Mott was of the parish of Warbleton, there is no corresponding christening record in that parish for her; in fact, there is not a single listing of baptism, marriage, or burial for anyone surnamed Mott for the period I checked from 1690 to 1712. Some (including Val Bray in a note below) assume this Elizabeth is the same Elizabeth Mott chr. 21 Mar 1700/1701 in Herstmonceaux, Sussex, which is very close at only 4.3 miles from Warbleton, to parents Benjamin and Elizabeth Mott. There are also other children shown chr. in the same parish with the same couple as parents: Benjamin 11 Mar 1704/1705, John 3 Dec 1707, and Samuel 30 Jan 1710. If this is our Elizabeth, she would have been age 28 when she married Thomas Daw in 1729.
However, there is a problem with the Herstmonceaux Elizabeth Mott being ours because of the burial of "Elizabeth Mott daug'r of Benjamin Mott buried only in Sheepswool Apr'l 4 [1705]." The burial gives no further information of age nor mother's name. (Sheeps wool is not a location but a law favoring the woolen merchants at the time by requiring the dead to buried wrapped in wool and no other imported fabric.) Without the mother's name listed, it cannot be determined whether it is the same 1701 Elizabeth. Perhaps, this may be explained by another earlier Elizabeth Mott chr. 2 Feb 1682/3 with a father listed as Benjamin with no mother's name shown. (See: https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/3:1:S3HT-D1LQ-65L?i=99&cc=1473016&cat=243685.) (There is also another unnamed child shown chr. with the same father Benjamin and no mother listed: ___ Mott 11 Jan 1680, who was buried shortly after birth.) Since no marriage is shown in the Herstmonceaux parish shown for the 1682 Elizabeth, it may have been she who died in 1705 (at the calculated age of 21) and listed as the daughter of an earlier Benjamin in the same parish than the Benjamin who fathered the 1701 Elizabeth.
Note also that there was another Elizabeth Mott chr. in Herstmonceaux on 25 Jan 1694 to father Samuel, but she may be too old to be our Elizabeth marrying in 1729 in Warbleton and having children until 1744.
Considering a search of church records for Sussex from 1695 to 1710 show no other christenings of anyone named Elizabeth Mott, the 1701 Elizabeth Mott is most likely our line.

Her parents were Thomas Daw and Mary Hilton married in Willingdon on 17 Oct 1768. (Mary was buried on 12 Oct 1783 at Westham.) Mary Hilton was bapt. 30 Mar 1746 in Wilmington, Ssx. Her parents were Richard Hilton and Susan Sergeant who were married on 15 Jan 1734 at Friston, Ssx. (Ssx. M. Index). Their children were Elizabeth bapt. 30 Sep 1737, Thomas 9 Mar 1739, John 29 Nov 1741, William 27 May 1744, Mary 30 Mar 1746, Ann 17 Jul 1748, Susan 26 Aug 1750, Edward 6 Feb 1757, Robert 6 Feb 1757, all at Wilmington. Richard Hilton was bapt. 1 Jan 1710. His parents were Thomas Hilton and Margaret Howell who were married on 20 Oct 1706 at West Firle (Ssx. M. Index). Their children were Ann (Mary ?) bapt. 27 Mar 1706, Thomas 23 Oct 1708, Richard 1 Jan 1710, Mary 8 Apr 1716. (From Familysearch Ancestral File and Pedigree Resource File submitted by Camille Barker.)
Susannah Sergeant was bapt. 5 Oct 1716 at St. Clements, Hastings. Her parents were Henry Sergeant and Ann Gibbon who were married on 17 Jul 1707 at St. Clements Hastings. (Ssx. M. Index) Their children were ??? Susanna bapt. 5 Oct 1716, ??? Mary born 13 Jul 1726, Ann 30 Oct 1728, John 30 Oct 1728 at St. Clements. (I.G.I.)
Henry Sergeant was bapt. 23 Sep 1680 at St. Clements Hastings. His parents were Henry Sergeant and Ann Gawan who were married on 16 Dec 1677 at St. Clements Hastings. (Ssx. M. Index) Their children were Henry bapt. 23 Sep 1680, ??? Stephen 2 Mar 1687, Edward 1/17 ? Jan 1690. (I.G.I.)

Thomas Daw was bapt. 28 Apr 1734 at Warbleton, Ssx. His parents were Thomas Daw and Elizabeth Mott who were married on 8 Apr 1729 at Warbleton, Ssx. Their children were Mary bapt. 4 Feb 1729, Lucy 4 Mar 1731, Thomas 28 Apr 1734, Samuel 21 Aug 1737, Elizabeth 10 Jun 1744. (From I.G.I.) Elizabeth Mott was bapt. 21 Mar 1700/1. Her parents were Benjamin Mott (of Herstmonceux) and Elizabeth Robonson who married on 27 May 1701 at Hooe. (Ssx. M. Index).
Note: A Thomas Daw married a Mary Bingham on 6 Apr 1758 at Warbleton. Their children were Samuel bapt. 14 Mar 1762, Mary 18 Jun 1763, Elizabeth 21 JUn 1765, all at Warbleton. (Did Mary Bingham die and Thomas remarry? Will look into this.)
