"A possible child of James Adair, Sr., cooper and his wife Eleanor is Elizabeth [is this a Brownlee typo for Hannah?], wife of John Jones, blacksmith.

F, p. 8 - 1 Aug, 1795, Hannah Jones, widow of John Jones, dec'd and her son, William Jones, and his wife Mary, to John Craig, 50 a. on Duncan Creek, part of a 200 a. grant to James Adair, Sr. 11 Aug. 1774, of which 150 a. conveyed by said James Adair and wife, Eleanor, to said John Jones in 1784, adj. John McCreary's spring branch, John Adair, James Montgomery. Wit: John Robertson, Alexander Fillson, John Owens.
"Deed Bk. F, p, 9 - 1 Aug. 1795, Hannah Jones, widow of John Jones, dec'd, and her son William Jones and his wife Mary, to Alexander Fillson 100 a. of the above mentioned tract. Same witnesses.
"John Jones, blacksmith, attended and made purchases at the estate sale of another John Jones of the Duncan Creek area on 16 July 1784. He died sometime prior to the census of 1790, Hannah Jones appears as head of household with:
1 male age 16 and over - (William Jones-married Mary by Aug. 1795)
3 males under age 16
5 females
0 slaves
"No will or probate records for John Jones, blacksmith, have been located. No further research has been done on this Jones family. The names of the other 3 sons and probably 4 daughters are not known."

There are three William Jones listed of which I cannot definitively determine which is correct even after comparing the neighbors in the 1800 census.
