      3. Notes found Oct 2002 on Ancestry.com:
      a. Ruth Lavon Blundell: I found this lady through genealogical research and found her to be a wonderful lady. My grandfather was a roue [he 'slept around'] and had 2 women pregnant: Aunt Ruth's mother and my grandmother Alice Emily Stinger, whom he married. Aunt Ruth's mother never married. Ruth asked my mother's permission to have her parents and her sealed which permission she gained.
      b. She was the daughter of Frederick Dickenson Rugg and Jemima Katherine Adair. She was never married but was sealed to Samuel Blundell 13 Apr 1962. They had one daughter Ruth LaVon Blundell who was sealed to them 13 Apr 1962. Ruth LaVon Hales gave her mother's birth as 29 June 1900 but that is obviously mistaken since Ruth's birthday is 9 Jun 1900. She was born the 29 Jul 1877 and died 3 Aug 1958.

Life story written by Eva May Blundell Mander, daughter: "My father Samuel Blundell was born in Manchester, Lancashire, England on 5 August 1878. His father was James Blundell, Jr. His mother was Susanna Bamford Blundell. He lived in England until he was 11 years old, coming to America with his parents in 1889. After moving to Salt Lake City, Utah he won a Bible for selling the most newspapers. Dad was a tobacco salesman and operated a tobacco store across the street from Arbach's department store on 2nd South and State Street. It was on the northwest corner. He served in Company B in Fort Douglas. He married Alice Emily Stinger on the 6th of August 1900 in Farmington, Utah. They lived in Salt Lake City, Utah until after they had 3 children. He then left for Arizona and California in 1908 to find work. Alice heard very little from him and so she divorced him. He was killed in action of his duty as a deputy Marshall. He was shot by Joe Franco, an Italian laborer according to the coroner's verdict. Inquest was held at the Monita Ave. Undertaking Parlor. The shooting occurred on a Sunday morning. (Per obituary in the L.A. Times, Wednesday, 25 June 1919.) He had been sent to settle a family dispute but was shot down in cold blood. He was buried in Glendale, CA. He died 20 June 1919.
