      1. Tuesday, March 08, 2005 email from her son to Irene Petersen:
      Subject: sad news
      Dear Irina and Jack,
Sasha has told me of your computer problems and the loss of my address which did not allow you to write us at that time. Up to end of the autumn Mom was comparatively well and lived at the dacha with some rather nice family who looked after her. She even tried to continue her writing the book about my father. But then at the end of November she became feel worse and we brought her to Moscow because she obviously needed our attention and help. A physician who attended us several times was sure that the medicine cannot help here because that was effect of declining years. With my wife Galya we were making our best to comfort her but Mom passed away in her sleep in the evening at December 24th at our apartment. Yours Sasha Senior
