First son of Edmund and Mary (Howell) W. of Hebron, CT and Cambridge, NY, b. 12 Feb. 1744, Hebron vi. rec.: 1:40, CT; farmer, served from CT in American Revolution as captain; married 1st, 16 Nov. 1768? or 9, to Mary Bill, dau. of Benajah and Mary (Bill: probably dau. of James and Mary (Swodel) B., b. 1721) B.); she died 8 July 1794, Gilead, Hebron, Tolland Co., CT, age 51 (Hebron cem. rec.); he married 2nd, 10 or 11 Apr. 1796 to Jerusha Pinneo, dau. of ___, who died 28 Mar. 1845 age 84 (Hebron cern. rec.); he died 7 Mar. 1826, Gilead par. age 82, (Hebron cem. rec.); children of John Howell and Mary (Bill) W.: [Lists 7 children b. 1771-1784.]
