  RESEARCH_NOTES: 1. Search of 1881 British Census for Dorothy Pearson of Hexham 20 years either side of 1808 wasn't successful. There is a Dorothy Pearson that shows up in 1841 and 1851 as a widow with a son named Stephen Pearson. Her birth is indicated at 1798 at St. John Lee in Northumberland. Stephen Pearson may be married to a different Dorothy and his inclusion in this database is very tentative. 2. Are Stephen and Robert Pearson brothers - they married Dorothy and Mary Charlton? MARRIAGE: 1. LDS name extraction shows Stephen Pearson marrying Dorothy Charlton 17 Aug 1822 at Lee Saint John, Northumberland per batch M109191, film 0990936, printout 6902831. DEATH: 1. Stephen's wife Dorothy appears as a widow in the 1851 census and their youngest child in that census is 13. Ancestry.com's FreeBMD Death Index shows two possible deaths for two Stephen Pearsons in Hexham: 1840 or 1845. I am not sure which is his without applying for a death certificate - but it looks reasonably certain one of them is his.
