Note in Family Tree indicates tombstone says that he left two sons and two daughters living, which is consistent with the christening of four children in Stockbury per Family Search's "England Births and Christenings, 1538-1975" all christened with parents "Lawrence and Ann Hales" in Stockbury, Kent, England per FHL film 1835742:
