1. Today's Hampden County of Massachusetts was originally Middlesex County until it was split off in 1662 and named Hampshire County. Hampden County was formed from Hampshire County in 1812.

Notes Individual: Artemus Harmon book p. 159 Gladys Bagrowski gives birth date as 9-21-1644. Pynchon Court records give Sarah's birthdate as the 11th mo. 24 day which would make her birthdate January 24, 1644 according to the dating system used at that time. Ancestral File names husband as Charles Nerry. That is incorrect. His name is Charles Ferry.

a. v. 42, p. 588, entry for Montague Ferry (b. 1881): "...a descendent of Charles Ferry, of French descent, who came to this country from England in the middle of the 17th century and settled in Springfield, Mass., where he married Sarah Harmon."
b. v. 49, p. 9, entry for Dexter Mason Ferry, Jr. (b.1872): "...His first paternal American ancestor was Charles Ferre (spelling later changed to Ferry), a native of France who came to this country by way of England and about 1658 settled in Springfield, Mass. From Charles and his wife, Sarah Harmon..."
