Mead: "Rundle, William, late of Greenwich, Inventory taken June 11, 1733, by John Hobby and Jabez Mead, and filed Jan. 1, 1734, by Sarah Rundle, administratrix, page 85. Mar. 7, 1737, decedent's widow now being deceased, his four children, two sons and two daughters, all under fourteen years of age, had Samuel Rundle appointed their guardian, page 97."

"Will from Abstract of Probate Records at Fairfield Co., CT; Publication: Fairfield County GenWebsite: "Rundall, William, late of Greenwich, will dated Oct. 22, 1714, probated Jan. 6, 1717, mentioned his wife Abigail, and eldest son John, daughters Sarah Knap, Mary Finch, Abigail Finch, Patience, Hannah, Elizabeth, sons Samuel, William, Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, and Joseph, and grandson John Downs. Executors his wife and son Abraham. Witnessed Daniel Smith, Thomas Marshall, and Samuel Finch, page 10. Inventory taken Nov. 23, 1717.... and filed Nov. 26, 1717, page 11."
B. A variant on the will dates: "Note: Will of William Rundle, dated 22 Oct 1714, probated, 16 Jan 1714/15. Probate file #5348 on file in the Connecticut State Library."
3. FHL book 929.273 R871rg "Ancestry of Long Island and Greenwich 1667-1992," by Rundall, Austin, Brownhill, Parker (poorly punctuated), pp. 327-332:
"William Rundle2, William 1.
There is some confusion about the wife of William2 Rundle. It's been said she was the widow Reynolds when marrying William. The Nicholas Knapp Genealogy, pg. 13, says Sarah Knapp, "m. 1-4-1718/9 Peter Renolls? 2nd 4-12-1722, William Rundell..." However, "the History & Desc. of John & Sarah Reynolds," pg. 49 says "Peter Reynolds m.Sarah Knapp Jany. 14, 1718, died Feby. 5, 1743-44." If Peter's death date is accurage, William's wife could not be the widow Reynolds. Pag 9-10 of Knapp has a Sarah (D-11) dau. of Joshua & Abigail (Butler) Knapp, b. 5-19-1733. (See D.A.R. - she m. 1-14-1769, Peter Semell.??)" The dates are those of the Sarah who m. William2 Rundle, and it is his death date. It is obvious more research is needed to discern which Sarah Knapp was the wife of William2.

Apr. 12, 1722 at Stamford, Fairfield Co., CT, to Sarah Knapp by Rev. Richard Sackett, M.G., b. Jan. 18, 1699/1700 at Greenwich, d. ca. 1737, parents: Caleb Knapp or Joshua Knapp / Hannah Clements – Clemence or Abigail Butler; religion: Congregational.

Will & PROBATE of William Rundall (), 1714: 3rdly, my will is that my son William shall have for his portion, my 'two last divisions,' that is laid one near Round portion, my 'two last divisions,' that is laid one near Round Hill the other near Byram River being fiftene acres "apece which with what I have formerly giving him is his portion this is my will" (See record of Will of William 1).

"Know all men by this present that I, William Randall of ...town of Greenwich in the County of ffairfield in his majesties Collony of Connecticut have for the consideration of several parcells of land made over to me by Still John Lockwood of the same plase County and Collony as by bill of Sale from said Still John Lockwood may appear, have bargained and sold and do by these presents bargain, sell, alienate assign and sett over, surrender and Confirm from me the abovesaid William Randall my heirs, executors, administrators forever.
Said parcells of land now sold are lying and being in the limitts of the town of Greenwich abovesaid I say I have sold them to the said Still John Lockwood to him his heirs Executors, Administrators or Assigns ffor" To have and to hold, to occupie possess and fully to Injoy to his the said Still John Lockwood his heirs Executors or assigns proper use and benefit with all rights and priveleges properly belonging forever. Said lands situate and being as followeth (viz.) one parcell lying in Myanos Neck consisting of twenty acers (more or less) bounded Easterly by the land which was Jonathan Randalls, and Westerly by the Sea, and Northerly by Jonathan Jessup's land and by Randall's Stony Lott, and bounded Southwardly by Joseph Mead, and Thomas Marshall and Robert Lockwood their land
The other parcell of land is Scituate near the Essasuko lands, consisting of two acres and is bounded by Common land, East, West, North and South, as also a lottment of meadow lying in the hassurk medow which said lottment was formerly Jonathan Randall's, Sr, meadow which said meadow is bounded Easterly by Joshua Randall, Westerly by Common Land, Northerly by Joshua Randall's, and southerly by Joshua Randall's, as also a thirty and two pound right in on the East side of Myanos River. I say Sold with all the privileges thereto belonging with fence and fruit trees thereon, hereby declaring myself said William Randall to be proper owner of all the aforenamed parcells of Land and said Meadow and to have full power within myself to make sale of the same and every part thereof, hereby Ingaging to Warrant and defend the abovesaid parcells of Land and every parcell thereof abovementioned from all and every person and persons legally laying Claim to the Same or any part thereof, hereby ingaging to warrant and defend the premises from all former bargains, Sales gifts, grants, mortgages, Taxes, Rates, or incumbrances of the law of what nature or kind soever before the day and date hereof
In Confirmation of the above written Sale I the said William Randall do hereunto sett my hand and seale in Greenwich this twentieth day of March Anno Doi 1716-17 in the third year of our Soverign Lord George by the grace of GOD King of Great Brittain

Vol. 2 pg. 237 "Know all men by these present that I William Rundle of Greenwich county of Fairfield in the Collonie of Connecticut in New England for 7 pounds currant money which I have received of Samuel Mills of the same place consent & granted unto him a certain parcel of land within the bounds of Greenwich lying & being upon ye south end of a flat ridge near ye county line & a great swamp that Byrams river runs through sd land is in estimation of 15 acres more or less and is bounded on the north by Thomas Close Sr. easterly southerly & westerly by sd Samuel Mills land I the above sd William Rundle have sold from me & mine on the 23rd day of January 1717. Vol. 4 pg. 129: I Abraham Rundell of Greenwich... for 7 pounds received from my brother William Rundel I of the same place sold unto William Rundell 3 1/2 acres of land located upon ye rights of Daniel Mead of Greenwich in his sd Meads 6th division 1 1/2 miles above the county road signed sealed & delivered by me May 9, 1733. Abraham Rundell. Witnesses Samuel Peck, ___ ___."
