OBITUARY:
1. Ken Burnhope December 20, 2006, Subject: Passing of Hazel Burnhope. It seems as if I never contact you except for these type of circumstances. This is a draft of her obituary, she passed away yesterday at 3:00 p.m. at her home. I will update you as more info becomes final:
"Hazel Bowcutt Burnhope, age 91, passed away 19 December 2006 at her home surrounded by her loved ones. Hazel was born 10 July 1915, in Bothwell, Utah to Alfred George and Josephine Newman Bowcutt, the third of nine brothers and sisters. Hazel grew up in Garland, Utah, graduated from Bear River High School. She met and married the love of her life, Thomas Donald Burnhope in the Salt Lake Temple, on 11 January 1937. They started their lives together in Helper, Utah where they raised their family of two boys. They lived in Helper for the next 26 years where she was active in the YWMIA, and Relief Society. She moved to her home in Salt Lake City in March 1963 and resided there until her death. Hazel was active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Her family was raised and she went to work making drapery, first for Auerbach's, then ZCMI and finally for LaBai Drapery where she worked until her mid eighties. She enjoyed making draperies for many of the Temples throughout the world. She was a devoted wife, homemaker and mother. She was best at being a grandmother and loved having her grandchildren surround her. She is survived by her two sons, Kenneth D (Carol), and Alfred Keith (Darlene), eight grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren. Preceded in death by her loving husband Don, her parents, eight brothers and sisters and one great grandchild Isaac. Services will held on Wednesday, 27 December 2006 in the Crystal Heights 2nd Ward Chapel, 1970 East Stratford Ave. (2560 South), at 11:00 AM . The family will receive family and friends on Tuesday, 26 December 2006 from 6 to 8 PM and at the Larkin Mortuary 260 East South Temple, and one hour prior to the service. Interment will be at Bear River City Cemetery in Bear." Ken Burnhope
