1. The following partial excerpts about the wives and children of Thomas Spencer are from "The Great Migration Begins: Immigrants to New England 1620-1633," Volumes I-III (see notes of Thomas Spencer for full transcript):
"...Hannah, b. Hartford 15 April 1653 [CTVR 31]; said to have married (1) George Sexton, (2) Daniel Brainerd and (3) Jonathan Chapman, but the secondary sources are vague and uncertain, and the evidence for these marriages has not been found..."
2. Did not find this individual in the book "Families of Early Hartford, Connecticut," Lucius Barnes Barbour, 1982 ed. There was, however, a George Sexton born a generation later than Hannah Spencer showing different wives.
3. Possibly the George listed below; however, the dates may be to far off. Quote in Henry R. Stiles, "The History and Genealogies of Ancient Windsor, Connecticut," 1892, v. 2, p. 677: "George Sexton (Saxton), of Windsor and Westfield, was a contemporary of Richard of Windsor, and probably his brother. That he was not a son, appears from the setttlement of the widow of Richard. - 'Gen Ct. Rec.' The earliest mention thus far found of him is in 'Rec. of Deeds' (i. 33) at Springfield, Mass., in a deed from Thomas Cowper to George Sexton, 'now resident at Windsor,' of lands at Warrnoke river, 10 Jun 1663. On the 'Windsor Records' is the following: 'John, the son of George Sexton, was born at Windsor, 26 May 1673.' The date of George Sexton's removal to Westfield, Mass., appears from the following entry in 'Springfield Records': 'Jonathan Alford, aged 70, and John Fowler, aged 67, say that Ambrose Fowler and George Sexton, formerly of Westfield, now deceased, were possessed of land there above 46 years ago,' etc., dated 10 Jan 1717, which places the date of his removal at about 1671.
By a deed recorded at Springfield (Vol. II, 73), George and Catherine Sexton convey land in Westfield to their sons Joseph and Benjamin, in consideration of the sum of ₤160, dated 25 Jan 1687/8, and by an instrument signed by George Sexton, Jr. 'sometime of Westfield, but now of Newtown, on Long Island, son and heire to George Sexton of Westfield, lately deceased, consenting to the before mentioned writing made by my honored father' to my brothers Joseph and Benjamin, and dated 31 Oct 1690, it appears that George Sexton, Sen'r, died between 1688 and 1690. Children:

E. John, b. 26 May 1673.
F. James, m. (1) Hannah Fowler; (2) Annah Gilbert. [Kerry's note: This is Anna Bancroft who was married first to Gilbert.]

4. "The American Genealogist," Vol. 27 "The Four Spencer Brothers: Their Ancestors and Descendants," compiled by Donald Lines Jacobus, M. A., pp. 162-63:
"Hannah [Spencer], b. 15 Apr. 1653; m. (1) George Sexton, Jr.; m. (2) 29 Nov. 1698, Daniel Brainerd, Sr."
