"Nicholas Knapp Genealogy," compiled by Alfred Averill Knapp, M.D. "This Genealogy of the Descendants of Nicholas Knapp, first found mentioned at Watertown, Massachusetts in 1630, is the result of the work and research of many individuals. The four principal collectors of data were Charles Ruggles Knapp, Henry Eno Knapp, Ezra Fred Knapp and the author, Alfred Averill Knapp, but they were assisted through correspondence by a large number of individuals who furnished much valuable family and local information...":
      "Lydia, b. Greenwich. d. after 1796. m. Oct. 28, 1762, Horton Reynolds, second son of Gideon. -James. -John. -John. He b. 1734. d. 1797. Had Children: -Lydia -Charity -Bethia -Anna - Rachel -Mary (Polly) -Ruth, b. about 1778, m. Dec. 24, 1795, Ebenezer Knapp, Jr., -Horton. Horton Sr. was in the War of 1812. Sergeant Horton Reynolds who m. Lydia Knapp, daughter of Caleb Knapp, was a brother of Ambrose Reynolds and William Reynolds, three sons of Gideon Reynolds, who was b. in Greenwich in 1706.
      Lydia was administrator of the will of her husband, Horton Reynolds, made Aug. 28, 1796. Proved May 2, 1797. Sergeant Horton Reynolds, son of Gideon, was b. 1737. d. 1797. m. Lydia Knapp. She is mentioned in the will of her father as Lydia Reynolds. Also, in the will of Sarah, widow of Capt. Jabez Mead as my niece. She is the daughter of Caleb Knapp and Clemence Mills. Lydia (Knap) Reynolds had Lydia, b. 1761. d. 1850. m. Dr. Elisha Deleher. Charity, b. 1765. d. 1806. m. Benonia Platt, Jr. Bertha, m. Nathaniel Sockett. Anna, b. 1772. d. 1852. m. David Hobby, Jr. Rachel, b. 1775. m. Zalmon Sanford. Mary (Polly), b. 1777. d. 1864. m. 1st Caleb Purdy. m. 2nd Stephen Warring. Ruth, b. 1778. m. Ezra B. or Ebenezer Knapp."
      Father's "will was made Oct. 28, 1762. Proved July 12, 1763, mentioned wife, Clemens, children: Caleb-Titus-Amos-Sarah Hobby-Clemens Bush-Amy Mead-Charity Lockwood-Lydia Reynolds-Hannah Close and Mary. Capt. Joseph Hobby was executor. Inventory May 6, 1763. Probated May 12, 1763. Recorded in Vol. III, p. 92. Stamford, Conn. Caleb deeded land to his son, Caleb, "for Love" "land below the half mile line" in 1752, page 325. Also, same to same, land within ye mile and half line in 1753, Vol. VII, p. 392. He bought land of his brother, Charles, in 1729-1747-1748, "the bottom lot." Bought land of John Howe, Aug. 2, 1722 and from his brother Charles Oct. 17, 1729. Deeded land to his son Caleb Nov. 30, 1749. Jabez Mead of Greenwich, deeds to Samuel Mills, Denton Mills of Ridgefield, Sarah Close, widow of Jonathan Close, late of Greenwich, deceased, Lydia, wife of Eben Fitch, of Norwalk, Clements, wife of John Smith, of Ridgefield, Conn. Also, Caleb Knapp of Goshen, N.Y., Titus Knapp, Amos Knapp, Sarah, wife of Capt. John Bush, Amy Mead, wife of Eben Mead, Jr., Charity, wife of Joseph Lockwood, Hannah, wife of Nathaniel Close, Lydia, wife of Norton Reynolds, Mary Knapp, daughter of Caleb Knapp, all of Greenwich (meaning all those whose place of residence is not given). To the above named Samuel Mills, Denton Mills, Sarah Close, Lydia Fitch, Clemens Smith and to their heirs, one half of my title to land lying in Cakeat potent (or Cakes at Patent) in Orange Co., N.Y. bounded east by Haverstraw Patent, which I had of my father-in-law, Samuel Mills, deceased. And do release the other half to Caleb Knapp, Titus Knapp, Amos Knapp, Sarah Hobby, Clemens Bush, Amy Mead, Charity Lockwood, Hannah Close, Lydia Reynolds and Mary Knapp. Dated Mch. 21, 1761.       "Lydia (Knapp) Reynolds 4, Caleb 3, Sarah (Rundle) Knapp 2, William Rundle 1; resided Greenwich, Fairfield Co., Connecticut, born ca 1745 Greenwich, Fairfield Co., CT; died after 1796 - Aug. 23 1796 (will of Horton mentions her; will proved May 02 1797); parents: Caleb Knapp / Clemence. Mills; married: "before Oct. 28, 1762 ...in father's will as Lydia Reynolds," pg. 107 Reynolds, to Horton Reynolds "second son" of Gideon born: 1734 Greenwich, Fairfield Co., CT, died 1797 Greenwich, Fairfield Co., CT, parents: Gideon Reynolds / Hannah Todd; military: French & Indian War 1757, Rev. War Corporal - Capt. Joseph Hobby's Co. Ninth CT Militia under Gen. Wooster, l776-7. Became a Sergeant; wounded Battle of White Plains; religion: Congregational Church of Greenwich.

      Sergeant Horton's brother Ambrose was executor of his estate. Lydia 4 was named in will of Sarah, wid of Capt. Jabez Mead, as "my niece, June 28, 1786."
