B. Pp. 219-220: "Dr. Charles Phelps, b. Hebron, CT, 22 Sep 1735, m. 10 Nov 1757, Hannah Dennison, (dau. of William and Hannah Dennison), b. Groton, CT, 1738, d. Stonington, CT, 10 Sep 1797, in her 59th year. He m. 2nd, 14 Feb 1798, Sally Swan, (dau. of Thomas and Anna Swan), b. 5 Oct 1772. After Mr. Phelps's death she m. 2nd. Henry Hubbard. She d. in Stonington CT, 10 Sep 1841, in her 69th year. Dr. Phelps studied medicine, settled in Stonington, CT, where he practiced medicine for many years and was a prominent man. He was the Justice of the Peace, Judge of Probate and promininently connected with the church. At that time money was raised in the churches by lottery. The following is a copy of one of the tickets issued by him. He died in Stonington, 17 Aug 1808 in his 76th year.
'No. 2452. Stonington-point Meeting House Lotter. This ticket shall entitle the bearer to such prize as may be drawn aginst its number, subject to a decuction of eight per cent. Stonington July 20, 1793. Chs. Phelps.'

Timothy, gg.son of William) m. 26 Feb 1726, Hepzibah (dau. Robert) Stiles; she was of the Massachusetts Stiles family, and therefore was not, as has been claimed, a cousin of Pres. Stiles of Yale College; she was born Boxford, Mass., 7 Nov 17(prob. '09). Children (b. Hebron, CT.):

No marriage or death record. No records for either of his two wives.
2. Note the contradiction in birth years in the Phelps of America book quoted above. One quote says 1732 and the other 1735.
