BIOGRAPHY: Letter from Glenwood Resource Center Dated: September 28, 2007
RE: Henry Schneider DOB: 1/27/1865
I received your letter and release requesting information on the above-mentioned person. Unfortunately, I have very little information on Henry, below is a summary of what I was able to find:
Henry Schneider was born on 1/27/1865 in Watkins IA (Benton County) and was admitted to the Iowa School for the Feeble Minded (now Glenwood Resource Center) on 6/30/1881. Henry was diagnosed as a Medium Grade Imbecile, which in modern terms would likely classify him as having an IQ between 35-49 (but again, this is a very loose interpretation). The information I have reflects Henry had no education and 10 siblings; however, their names aren't listed. He passed away on 11/9/1939 from cardiac arrest and is buried in the Glenwood Resource Center cemetery ( Row R, Plot 98). There are no photos, court documents or medical records for reference purposes. Additionally, I have no record of a Frank Schneider [his brother] ever residing here
I'm sorry I couldn't be of more assistance, but this is all the information I have
Sincerely,
David F. Borck
