BIOGRAPHY:
1. The book "The Ebenezer Hanks Story" notes that Billy Shoemaker headed with Eb Hanks and Eb's nephew Mack McDougall in the fall of 1876 for the Silver Reef country where a silver boom was on. They lived at Bellevue (Pintura) where the book notes Eb was proud of his ability with scythe: "...he took a good deal of trouble in trying to teach Billy Shoemaker to mow as he mowed. Billy had his way of doing it and stuck to it."
