    • RESEARCH_NOTES:
      1. "Nicholas Knapp Genealogy," compiled by Alfred Averill Knapp, M.D. "This Genealogy of the Descendants of Nicholas Knapp, first found mentioned at Watertown, Massachusetts in 1630, is the result of the work and research of many individuals. The four principal collectors of data were Charles Ruggles Knapp, Henry Eno Knapp, Ezra Fred Knapp and the author, Alfred Averill Knapp, but they were assisted through correspondence by a large number of individuals who furnished much valuable family and local information..." Fourth Generation:
"D-36. Nehemiah Knapp, son of C-8. Caleb and Sarah (Rundell) Knapp.
      B. 10-15-1714. He was an executor of his father's will.
      D. and buried at Stamford, Conn.
      M. Abigail Ferris, b. 4-13-1701, daughter of Joseph Ferris, a soldier.
      E-101. Nehemiah, b. 10-29-1741. d. 1811. m. Mary Hill and Jane Wiltsie.
D-36. Nehemiah was in the French and Indian War in 1756. Enrolled 10-13-1756 at Greenwich, under Capt. David Waterbury, Col. Andrew Ward, Jr., in the relief of Fort William Henry. (Conn. Historical Society Collection, Vol. IX, p. 150.) Perhaps he had other children. Some think he had:
      (1) Jonathan, b. 1739. m. Elizabeth Ferris. Was in the French and Indian War in the relief of Fort William Henry. He was in Warwick, Orange Co., N.Y. in 1790.
      (2) Libbeus, b. 1745. m. Rachel Storms.
      (3) Jared, b. 1749. m. Jane Williams.
      (4) Silas, b. ca. 1751. m. Anna .
      (5) Jonas, b. 1752. m. Catherine Silkman.
There is much uncertainty concerning the parentage of the above. Ezra Fred Knapp thinks they were sons of Jonah, C-22, and they have been there placed. This ancestral line is confirmed by David E. Knapp."
