- RESEARCH_NOTES:
1. There appears to be some uncertainty of whether Sarah Green was the wife or not of Joseph Lockwood. See the following quotes:
A. Per "History and Genealogy of the Families of Old Fairfield," Donald Lines Jacobus, comp. and ed. pages 384/5: "Joseph (Lockwood), d. at Greenwich in 1748; will 16 Dec. 1748, proved 2 Jan 1749; m. (perhaps Sarah Green, b. at Stamford, 19 Apr 1684, dau. of Benjamin Green whose will 1725 named dau. Sarah Lockwood)." Same book, p. 235: "Benjamin had a dau. Sarah bapt. at Fairfield, 10 May 1696."
B. Per the book "The Story of the Early Settlers of Stamford, Connecticut, 1641 - 1700," by Jeanne Majdalany (including genealogies comp. with Edith M. Wicks), page 164: "Sarah Green, b1684, m1727 Joseph Lockwood." Note in book: "The two Sarahs (dau. of John Green and dau. of Benjamin Green may be wrong in regards to their husbands." Also references Paul W. Prindle records.
C. FHL Book 929.273 L814a or FHL film 1321248, item 6, "Some Descendants of Edmund Lockwood (1594-1635) of Cambridge, Massachusetts and his son Edmund Lockwood (c. 1625-1693) of Stamford Connecticut," by Harriet Woodbury Hodge, C.G., 1978: "Joseph, d. 1748, m. ?Sarah Green."
2. Not mentioned in the "Lockwood Genealogy" book. No wife is mentioned in husband's will so she was probably deceased by 1748.

1. The book "Stamford Town Records, Volume 1, 1641-1723," transcribed and annotated by Paul R. Finch, (Boston: NEHGS, 2011), pp. 140-41:

Benjamin, son to Benjamin Green, born 5th Novembe: 1693.
Susan, wife to Ben: Green, dyed 5 November 1694."
Footnotes:
448. The name "Benjamin Green" is apparent, since the following records of his children are grouped together right after this record. Huntington (Stamford Registration, 39) and Jacobus, (TAG 11:1 [July 1934]: 36) agreed that this name should be Benjamin; however, the Barbour Collection (Stamford: 155), citing Stamford Town Records 1:120, when recording the marriage of Susanna Roberts, not only failed to fill in the name "Benjamin," but also left out the name "Green."
449. The following three daughters of Benjamin and Susanna (Roberts) Green, whose names have been broken off, were identified by Mead (Historie of Greenwich, 551-52) as Sarah, Phebe, and Lucretia, respectively. Mead, who was assisted by Robert B. Miller, editor of the "Lyon Memorial," appears to be correct with the exception of Lucretia's name, which should have been Johanna. It appears that Benjamin Green had only the four children listed here by his first wife, Susanna Roberts, for her death is recorded after her fourth child, Benjamin Green, Jr., (STR 1:120, line 6). Benjamin Green's will (Fairfield Probate Records, 8:63 [FHL 0,004,287]) dated 18 Feb. 1724/5 and probated 5 April 1727, mentions his wife and children Benjamin, Johanna, wife of Daniel Wheaton, Ebenezer, Nathan, Ruben, Charles, Sarah Lockwood, Phoebe Smith, Ester Smith, and Deborah Dan. In this list we see a Sarah and a Phoebe, but no Lucretia. The name Lucretia appears to be a Huntington invention (Stamford Registration, 39), as it is seen nowhere else in the records. Jacobus identified this third child as [Sus]ana (TAG 11:1 [July 19341:36) Deciphering the last three letters of her name, he evidently surmised that she was named after her mother Susanna, mentioned three lines earlier. However, her name appears to be Johanna. Not only does Benjamin's will refer to a daughter Johanna, but the original record, although seriously faded, appears to say "Johana." Note also that a John and "Feebe" Smith had a son, John Smith, on 16 Feb. 1709/10 (STR 1:125), at which time Phoebe would have been 24 if she was the second daughter."
