      MARRIAGE:
      1. The book "Pioneer Women of Faith and Fortitude" by Daughters of Utah Pioneers for Sarah Jane McKinney Hales indicates parents are Hugh McKinney, Jr. and Lehman/Leighman, and that Sarah spent much of her time in Cedar Fort, Utah, with her half-sister, Eliza Ann, who was married to Henry William Hales. Sarah was married to Henry in the Endowment House on January 11, 1857, as his second wife.

      2. Per FHL book 977.771 V2c "Death and Marriage Notices from the Frontier Guardian, 1849-1852", p. 28: "William H. Hales and Miss Eliza Ann Ewing, both of Decatur county, Iowa, 19 May 1850, at Garden Grove, by John Bear. (Frontier Guardian, 12 June 1850)." Also per FHL book 977.771 V2k "Vital Statistics from the Frontier Guardian, Kanesville, IA, Feb. 1849 - Jan 1852": "At Garden Grove on Sunday 19th ult., by Elder John Bear, Mr., William H.
