Stoudt, 98, died Monday, May 19 in Hamilton, Mont. She was born in Glendive, Mont., Aug. 28, 1904, the sixth of 12 children born to Peter and Maria Reno Rorvik. She grew up in Circle, Mont., and attended elementary school there. She graduated from Glendive High School in 1922. She attended Montana State College in Bozeman for one year and finished her college education at Montana State Normal College in Dillon, receiving a teaching certificate in 1926. Following college, she worked for the McCone County Attorney and then moved to Terry, Mont., and worked for the Prairie County Attorney. In Terry, she met and married Harold L. Stoudt in 1928. In 1944, they purchased the Case implement dealership in Powell. Later they owned and operated the Powell Auto Electric until retiring in 1971. They moved to Arizona for several years and then returned to Powell. She remained in Powell until 1989 when she moved to Casper to be near her daughter and son-in-law. She moved to Hamilton in 1996. She was a member of the Union Presbyterian Church in Powell; Alcyone Chapter 27, Order of Eastern Star; Daughters of the Nile and was a past guardian of Jobs Daughter Bethel No. 23 in Powell. She was a member of the Powell Country Club and active in Tee & Tan golf. She loved to read, play golf and bridge, travel, knit and crochet and be with friends and family. She and her husband traveled extensively in the lower 48 states, Canada and Mexico and took a European tour in 1972. Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Homer and Inez Stoudt of Lubbock, Texas; a daughter and son-in-law, Sandra and Tom Stecher of Stevensville, Mont.; six grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild. She is also survived by a brother, John Rorvik Davies of Kalispell, Mont.; and a sister, Clara Beardsley of Big Fork, Mont.; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Harold; her parents; five brothers and three sisters. Cremation has taken place. No service is scheduled at this time. Family links: Children: Homer C. There was an Anne Waterman chr. to Thomas Waterman and Elenor Upton in the parish in 1730 and there is a very slim chance it could be this daughter; however, it does not mention parents which was the case in all of the other entries in these records. Without a relationship given, it is most likely the wife of Thomas Waterman who was buried in 1719 in the same parish. There are no other early Watermans in the parish except for Thomas and his children -- so an assumption is made placing Anne as his wife. No other documentation for this supposition has been found to date. See FHL film 992456 for Brenchley Parish now available online at Family Search. "Diadema Frederick Millard Birth: Feb. 19, 1798, Montgomery County, New York, USA Death: Sep. 13, 1887, Highland Park, Lake County, Illinois, USA Diadama Millard was m1) to Asher Conover (born c 1816[sic]) with whom she had three children: Van Rensselaer Conover (1816-1879), Samuel S. Conover (1818-1898), and William James Conover (1822-). In 1831, she married again, to Samuel Foster Millard. They lived in Michigan for a time (Samuel's father, Maxwell, and Samuel and Diadema's son, Alexius, are buried in Blood Cemetery, Clinton County, MI. (see http://www.willett.org/ovid/bloodcem.htm) before moving to Chicago. They had three sons: Jerome (1833-), Alexius (1837-), and Sylvester (1839-1905) who became a noted lawyer and lived in Highland Park, Lake County, IL and may have had a summer home in Lake Geneva, WI. Samuel F. Millard died in Plainwell, Allegan Co, MI on 27 Aug 1879 but his gravesite has not yet been located. Samuel also married Delilah Lemoin 30 June 1873 in Kalamazoo, MI. Family has not yet found divorce records for Samuel and Diadama. Sylvester Millard tried to find Samuel incompetent but the judge ruled in Samuel's favor.
