    • RESEARCH_NOTES:
      1. Some family researchers note that Christopher Wilkinson was buried 18 Jun 1774, but the entry per FHL film 252545 for Bellingham parish in Northumberland simply states: "Christopher Wilkinson of Whitehall Nook, 8 Jun 1774," which is not enough information to truly make a definitive conclusion. Those same histories however assign the following children christenings to him which is somewhat problematic considering he would be long dead for the last children if the burial is in fact correct.:
-John, chr 24 Jul 1757, Templegreen. [Confirmed correct by me per FHL film 252545.]
-Thomas, 25 Feb 1759, Shillafield. [Confirmed correct by me per FHL film 252545 except location should be Shelleyfield.]
-Jane, 30 Nov 1760, Shillowfield. [Confirmed correct by me per FHL film 252545.]
-Eleanor, 6 Nov 1762, Sheelafield. [Confirmed by me per FHL film 252545 that there is no such entry.]
-Peter, 4 Mar 1768, Sheelafield. [Confirmed by me per FHL film 252545 that there is no such entry.]
-Unnamed dau., 25 Apr 1772, White Walls. [Confirmed correct by me per FHL film 252545 except date is 29 Apr 1772.]
-Christopher, circa 1779, d. 15 Feb 1801, Temple Green. [Confirmed by me per FHL film 252545 that the actual entry states: "Christopher Wilkinson of Templegreen and son of Ann Wilkinson, widow, bur. 15 Feb 1801, age 28 [est. birth ca. 1773].]
-Elizabeth, 21 Dec 1801, Temple Green. [Confirmed by me per FHL film 252545 that there is no such entry.]
-Mary, d. 18 Sep 1795, Stobbilee. [Confirmed correct by me per FHL film 252545 except no parent is identified. Note that there were more than one Wilkinson in the parish.]
In summarizing the above, I believe that Christopher Wilkinson did in fact die in 1774 and that John, Thomas, Jane, Eleanor, Peter, "unnamed daughter," and Christopher were his children. Also by linking the son Christopher to his mother Ann, we know she was a widow by 1801 in Templegreen which links nicely to the burial entry reported separately below.

      CHRISTENING:
      1. There are no Christopher Wilkinsons chr. in Bellingham chapelry from 1700 to 1740 (FHL film 252546); however, there are the following two entries in the larger Simonburn parish (FHL film 252551) of which Bellingham was a part of at this time period:
-27 Jan 1727, Christoper and Isable, son and dau. of Jno. Wilkinson of Wark.
-13 Oct 1728, Christopher, son of Matthew Wilkinson of Most-lee.
Both entries would work for both time and location, but which is specific to our Christopher cannot be answered with the meager information given. On the basis of family forenames carried over to the next generation, we do see a lot of Johns but no Matthews, making the first entry more likely on such a flimsy basis.

      MARRIAGE:
      1. FHL film 252546, Bellingham marriage records beginning 1754: 11 May 1757, Ann Charlton and Christopher Wilkinson, both of the parish, wit: "Jhon" Wilkinson and Edward Charlton. [Many family histories believe this is our Ann.]

      BURIAL:
      1. FHL film 252545 for Bellingham parish in Northumberland for husband and wife:
-Christopher Wilkinson of Whitehall Nook, 8 Jun 1774.
-Ann Wilkinson of Templegreen, widow, 5 May 1816, age 82. [This age approximates an 1733-1734 birth which works great with the christening record of 1733.]
