      1. Zabriskie, George Olin, "The Jan Cornelisen Van Hoorn/Van Horne Family," The American Genealogist, Vol. 46, No. 3 (July 1970), pp. 170, 176-177:
"Aefje/Effie Joris Van Hoorn, daughter of Joris Jansen Van Hoorn . . . by his wife Maria Rutgers, was born in New York and baptized there in the Dutch Reformed Church on 16 March 1680, witnesses: Assuerus Hendrickszen and Hillegond Joris (child's grandmother and uncle by marriage). In the same church on 13 Jan. 1704/5, with license dated 11 Jan. 1704/5, she married Enoch Michielsen Vreeland, as his third wife. He was baptized in the New York Reformed Church on 26 Oct. 1649, son of Michiel Jansen Vreeland and Fytje Hartmas, and lived near present Cavan Point in Jersey City, a section then called Pemmerpogh, now the Greenville area, south of Jersey City. He also owned and apparently later lived on property at Moonachie, in the Rutherford-Teterboro area of Bergen County. He died 17 Aug. 1719. His will was dated 12 April 1715, proved in Bergen County, 11 April 1720 (NJW 1:483). Among those mentioned were present wife Ephy who has Elias, Jacob and George all under age. He appointed his wife sole executrix and guardian, and after her death or remarriage brothers-in-law Rut van Horne and David Coesart. The children were born at Moonachie and baptized in the Reformed Churches in New York and Bergen.
