      1. Zabriskie, George Olin, "The Jan Cornelisen Van Hoorn/Van Horne Family," The American Genealogist, Vol. 46, No. 3 (July 1970), pp. 170, 174-175:
"Hillegond Joris Van Horne, daughter of Joris Jansen Van Hoorn . . . by his wife Maria Rutgers, was born in New York and baptized there in the Dutch Reformed Church on 10 April 1672, witnesses: Mr. Evert Pieterszen Keteltas and Hillegond Joris (child's paternal grandmother and her second husband). Hillegond joined the same church in 1700. In the North Ward census taken about 1703 she and her family were living next door to her brother John, with one male and one female adult and one child of each sex in the household. She died 15 March 1749/50. She married, first, on 23 July (banns 16 July) 1692, in the Dutch Reformed Church in New York, Willem Bogard [Boor in this entry as printed], young man born in Amsterdam, Noordt Holland, who does not seem to be related to the other Bogard-Bogerts in New York, even though Herbert Stewart Ackerman made him identical with Willem Bogardus, the eldest son of Domine Everardus Bogardus and Anneke Jans. He died of apoplexy on the 10th [church record] or the 16th [newspaper account] in New York (HSYB 1899 147; NYGBR 96:12). On 14 April 1746, Hillegond married in New York, second, as his third wife, Francois Couwenhoven, bapt. 24 Feb. 1675, died in New York 2 Feb. 1749, son of Johannes Jacobse Van Couwenhoven and Saertje Frans.
