    • RESEARCH_NOTES:
      1. From a FHL search and extraction of the parish records of Warden, of which Newbrough Chapelry is subservient and very nearby, per film 1068615, for Charletons (note that this Parish was never fully extracted by LDS IGI for the mid to late 1700s and so the following information is not readily seen); christenings 1724 to 1812:
-Ridley Charleton, b. 2 Feb 1811, bapt. 16 Mar 1811, 2nd son of Robert Charleton, native of Fourstones by his wife Margaret Ridley, dau. of William Ridley, weaver and native of Newbrough in this parish.

      2. FHL film 2193232, Warden Parish Easter Rate books, has a section of about 30-40 names listed under Fourstones for the following years in which we find the following Charletons. The dues are quite small and Robert always seems to be paying in-kind with harvested hay:
-1773: Geo. Charleton, Rob't Charleton, and Wm. Ridley (father of George's daughter-in-law?).
-1774: Geo. Charleton, Wm. Ridley, and Tho's. Ridley.
-1775: Geo. Charleton, Reb't Charleton, Wm. Ridley, and Tho's. Ridley.
-1776: Geo. Charleton, Reb't Charleton, Wm. Ridley, and Tho's. Ridley.
-1777: Geo. Charleton, Wm. Ridley, and Tho's. Ridley.
-1178: Geo. Charleton, Wm. Ridley, and Tho's. Ridley.
