      "Lieut. Samuel Phelps, b. Windsor, Ct., 29 Jan 1675, m. Abigail Eno 3 Jun 1706, dau. of James and Abigail (Bissel) Eno. She b. Windsor, Ct., 1 Mar 1686, d. there 25 Dec 1749. Mr. Phelps settled in Windsor. He died there previous to 1749. His will dated 26 Oct 1741 in Hartford. Probate mentions Samuel, James, Hezekiah, Josiah and Abigail. Mrs. Phelps' will, dated 21 Dec 1749, probated in Hartford, to daughter Abigail 'I grant my green riding hood, black silk crape gown and black taffeta apron: all the rest of wearing apparel, to be divided between my four sons.' children b.       "James (son of James) Eno, b. 26 Dec 1678 (O.C.R.) Abigail (dau. of Samuel and Abigail Holcomb) Bissell (O.C.R.), who was b. 6 Jul 1661; d. 19 Apr 1728; he d. 16 Jul 1714; both buried in Old Burying-ground, Simsbury. He was probably the J. who was one of 11 petitioners, 1705, for a grant of land for services in the Swamp Fight, in King Philip's War. Ch.:

Sam'l P. of W., dated 26 Oct 1741, mentions Samuel, James, Hezekiah, Joshua, and Abigail. Will of Abigail Phelps of Windsor, dated 25 Dec 1749: 'to dafter Abigail I grante my greene Riding whood black Silk Crape goun, and Black Tafity appron, and all ye rest of rest of my wearing apparel to be divided between my four sons (Hartford Probate Records). - R.T.S.
