1. The book "The Early Settlement of Stamford, Connecticut 1641-1700…," by Jeanne Majdalany, p. 157:
"DAN, DANN, Francis - d1724, m1685 Elizabeth Clason (d aft 1749, d/o Stephen).
Francis Dan went from Barbados to Stamford about 1684. He lived west of Mill River north of the road. Later in the northern part of Stamford there was an area known as Dantown. Descendants:
A. Elizabeth - b1686, mc 1712 John Jones.
B. John - b1691, m1719 Deborah Green (b1701, d/o Benjamin).
C. David - bc1693, m1724 Hannah Lockwood (b1701, d/o Joseph).
D. Abigail - b1700.
E. Francis - bc1704, d1706.
F. Rebecca - b1706.
G. Jonathan - b1709.
