Notes - RESEARCH_NOTES:
1. There was a Hannah Collison chr. 11 July 1725 to William and Jane Collison in East Sutton, Kent, which is about 10.2 miles from Detling where our Hannah raised her family. This is the only indexed christening that turns up with a broad Kent search that seemingly works with the approximated age we have for our Hannah. Our Hannah was married in Chatham St. Mary 10 Jun 1725. The problem lies in that there is another marriage of a Hannah Collison even closer to East Sutton which occurred 2 Jun 1747 in Leeds, Kent to Thomas Judges. Leeds is only 4.1 miles away from East Sutton. If the East Sutton Hannah was ours, then she would have been 19 years old (a month shy of 20) at the time of marriage, whereas if she was the Leeds Hannah she would have been 21 years old (a month shy of 22). (June weddings must have been a big deal back then.) The statistical studies of the average age for females in marriage in the late 1600s to the mid-1700s is 22 (and 25 for males). We also know that there was at least two Hannahs born in the same era in Kent to have had two different marriage and so far we only have one indexed search result, which would indicate that there are perhaps other parishes not yet indexed. Additionally, our Hannah was married in Chatham St. Mary which is 11.9 miles in the opposite direction northwest from Detling as compared to 10.2 miles southwest from Detling to East Sutton. Weighing all these elements, the odds -- subject to more research -- are that the Leeds marriage seems more likely for the East Sutton Hannah due to both proximity and the age of the bride. We need more research before jumping to conclusions by trying to link the East Sutton Hannah to our Hannah.
