      Andrew Benton is first found at Milford in a list of the first settlers there recorded Nov 20, 1639. He m. at New Haven and resided at Milford until they took a dismission from the Church in Milford to the Church at Hartford in 1666 and removed to Hartford the same year. Though it appears from his having been a juror and holding land in Hartford 1664, he must have personally resided at Hartford before he removed there 1666."
