      “ARNULF (or ARNOUL) I the Great or the Old, Count/Marquis of Flanders, 918-964/965, Count of Artois, 932-964/965, Count of Boulogne and Temois, 933-probably 962, Lay-abbot of Saint-Benin, 933-945, Lay-abbot of Saint-Pierre, Ghent, 923? -941,953, son and heir, born about 885. He married in 922 ADÈLE DE VERMANDOIS, daughter of Heribert II, Count of Vermandois, by ___, daughter of Robert I, King of France [see Line A, Gen. 6 above for her ancestry]. They had two sons, Baudouin (III) [joint-Count of Flanders] and Egbert, and two daughters, Liutgarde (wife of [Count] Wichmann) and Elstrude (wife or mistress of Siegfried, Count of Guines). His wife, Adèle, died in 958 or 960. ARNULF I, Count/Marquis of Flanders, died 27 March 964-965. He and his wife were buried in the Abbey of Saint-Pierre, Gand.
