      Richard William Ackley, Census: 1930 Oregon; Education: degree in education Western Washington State University; Occupation: Career US Navy bet. 1940 and 1960; Occupation: Teacher Chemistry & Biology; He enlisted in the U.S. Navy in 1940 and saw service in the Pacific. He was on the USS Lexington when it was sunk and later saw service on the USS Enterprise in a Torpedo Squadron. He served twenty years in the Navy in various capacities, one of which was teaching electronics. He retired from the Navy circa 1960. Father: Francis Lee Ackley, b: 8 Mar 1895 in Perkins, Payne, Oklahoma; Mother: Ida Frances Adams, b: ABT 1898 in Wyoming.
