Two pedestrians added to state traffic toll by The Associate Dpress. Two elderly pedestrians were killed in separate traffic accidents in Washington Thursday. Police said James Mertinke, 72, a retired logger aas [was] struck and killed by car while crossing an intersection in downtown Clarkston. The driver of the was identified as Fred H. Moore, 78, of Clarkston. In Spokane, 83-year-old Mrs. Della Tarbert died after she was hit by a car driven by John W. Theade, 17, Spokane, police said.
