1900 US: St. Mark's Hospital, Third Precinct/Ward, Salt Lake City, Salt Lake Utah, p. 110A [not entirely sure if this is the right Mary Davis, however, her obituary does say she divorced and was a nurse. The birth places of her parents fit as does having children quite young with two not living by 1900. The name of the daughter Laura versus Myra doesn't fit nor possibly the fifth child listed in the Ancestral File cited below - of course the Ancestral File can have many errors.] Note also that her younger sister Melvina is also a nurse in the same census at the same facility:
Mrs. Mary Davis, nurse, June 1871, 28, m. 14 years, 4 total Childen with two living, UT IA UT, nurse.

      2. Children per Ancestral File v4.19 are:

      OBITUARY:
      1. "Mary D.H. Davis. Spanish Fork - Relatives here have received word of the death of Mrs. Mary D. Hales Davis, 82, at a Van Nuys, Cal. hospital of complications following pneumonia and a broken hip. Mrs. Davis was a native of Spanish Fork and was the eldest child of Charles Henry and Elizabeth Thompson Hales, early Utah pioneers. Educated in the early-day schools she was married to George Davis and they lived for a while in Spanish Fork. Three children were born to them, George, Howard and Myra, all of whom preceded her in death. She was divorced from Mr. Davis and studied nursing, graduating from the LDS hospital school of nursing, 50 years ago. She worked as a graduate nurse for many years in Utah then moved to California where she followed her profession until her health failed. Her son, Howard Hales Davis, served 10 years in the Los Angeles police department. She is survived by one sister, Miss Vina Hales, who served overseas as a nurse during World War I, and is still living at Santa Monica, Cal. Mrs. Davis was buried in California, March 11." Salt Lake Tribune, Fri., 24 Mar 1950, p. 37.
