      OBITUARY:
      1. "Mrs. Lavaun Hansen Hales, 37, of 664 8th St., wife of Clemont (Mont) Hales, died this morning in the Dee Hospital after an extended illness. Mrs. Hales was a member of the LDS Eighth Ward and had been a Sunday School teacher in the Syracuse Ward. She was also a member of the Ladies Auxiliary to the Ogden city fire department. She had formerly been employed at the Hill Air Force Base cafeteria for two years. She was born Sept. 14, 1918, in Syracuse, a daughter of Joseph B. and Regena Thurgood Hansen. She attended Davis County Schools and graduated from Davis High School. On Sept. 29, 1937, she was married to Mr. Hales in Salt Lake City. Surviving are her husband, Ogden; her parents, two brothers and three sisters, Elvin J. Hansen, Lowell Hansen, Mrs. Selby G. (Arvilla) Tanner, Mrs. Phil C. (Neth) Barber and Mrs. Lacy (Lavora) Criddle, all of Syracuse. Funeral services will be conducted Saturday at 1 p.m. in the LDS Syracuse Ward Chapel, Bishop Joseph T. Steed of the Syracuse First Ward officiating. Friends may call at Lindquist and Sons Colonial Funeral Chapel, 3408 Washington Blvd., Friday from 6 to 9 p.m. and Saturday until 12:30 p.m. Burial will be in Syracuse cemetery."
