1. Most Rootsweb.com Worldconnect sites checked on the Internet show this individual's name as Duke Hardiman without any documentation; however, the temple work done by relatives in the St. George Temple in 1878 lists his name as Hardaman Duke. Variation also listed as Hardyman, Hardeman, or Hardiman Duke. Deeke may be sometimes show as a bad transcription of Duke.
2. Found 5 Jun 2003 on the Internet site of Dr. Frank O. Clark <http://foclark.tripod.com/francisgilllaurenscosc.html>. [[Note Francis Gill is his brother-in-law married to a sister of his wife Pherreby - see his notes separately in this database]:
a. 1808 deed Francis Gill from Hardman Deeke Book J page 10, 118 acres for $118 on Duncan's Creek. Hardiman his X mark Deeke for $118 paid by Francis Gill sell 118 acres on Duncan's Creek, originally granted to Alex. McMarcy. 16 Apr. 1808. Wit: James Hound and Roger Brown. Duncan's Creek, on Mill's Atlas, is up in the north east portion of old Laurens District.
