OBITUARY:
1. Ogden Standard Examiner, Sat., 22 Feb 1969: "Engeltje S. Osborne. Mrs. Engeltje 'Lena' Smit Osborne, 76, of 455 31st, died Thursday night in a local nursing home following a heart attack. Mrs. Osborne was born June 11, 1892, in Blyhane, Holland, a daughter of Wilke and Jantje Opheikens Smit. She lived in Holland until 12 years of age when she came to Ogden. On June 28, 1915, she was married to Thomas Spencer Osborne in Ogden. They later received LDS Temple endowments. He died June 28, 1965. She was member of the LDS 11th Ward and Relief Society. She had served 15 years as an election judge. Surviving are three sons and one daughter, Earl Spencer Osborne, Ogden; Thomas G. Osborne, Salt Lake City; Ralph A. Osborne, Washington Terrace; Mrs. Glen (Edna Ruth) Mikkelsen, Ogden; 13 grandchildren, one great-grandchild. Also surviving are one brother and two sisters, Jacob Smit, Harrisville; Mrs. Grietje (Maggie) Pierce, Mrs. Geziena Hammer, both of Ogden. Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 1 p.m. at Lindquist and Sons Colonial Chapel with Bishop Harry Nasfell of the 11th Ward officating. Friends may call at the mortuary Monday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Tuesday prior to services. Burial in the Ogden City Cemetery."
