“AGNES OF MORTAIN, married ANDRÉ I DE VITRÉ, seigneur of Vitré in Brittany, son and heir of Robert I de Vitré, seigneur of Vitré, by his 2nd wife, Bertha. They had three sons, Robert [II] (seigneur of Vitré), Gervais, and Elie, and one daughter, Marquise (wife of Thibaut de Mathefelon). Her maritagium included the manor of Tybesta, Cornwall. He succeeded his father about 1090. Sometime in the perod, 1093-1106, he and his mother, Bertha, requested the Abbot of Saint-Aubin d'Angers to celebrate a mass each year on "XV Kal Sep" for the anniversary of his younger brother, Robert de Vitré. ANDRÉ I DE VITRÉ died about 1139.
